We've been trying for a long time but can't get pregnant. Any tips for getting pregnant would be great. We haven't taken any infertility treatments. We want to get pregnant naturally.

I wish there was such a simple answer to that question. There are so many things you need to consider.
1. It could be a male problem
2. It could be a female problem
3. May be there is no problem
4. You're simply not 'doing it' at time of ovulation
5. Do you have periods/ovulation regularly?
6. Do you smoke/ alcohol/ over weight/ etc etc.
7. Do you have any medical condition like PCOS, endometriosis etc etc?

See how complicated it can get? Anyway something that I have recently seen people talking about a lot is Chinese medicine for infertility. There are many people that say some changes in the life style can simply get you pregnant.
Apparently there are many people that managed to get pregnant in spite of being told that they were 'infertile' by doctors of western medicine and then years later managed to get pregnant after a few changes in life style like a few small dietery changes etc.

In my experience - extremely hard. I saw a spacialist and underwent various forms of fertility treatments and it took 4 years with my first (i do not have pcos, am not overweight, premenopausal or have any known condition).

I did however fall pregnant naturally and have a 2 year old son. I have been trying for 6 months with number 2 but have only had 2 or 3 periods in this time.

My advice is to start tracking everything well in advance so you might get a better idea of when you are ovulating when you do start trying.

I also bought the maybe baby ovulation tester but it doesnt seem to be doing me any good.

Good luck - i dont mean to scare you but it has certainly not been easy for me and i too have always had irregular cycles unless i was on the pill.

I usually have period cramps when I have my period and a few days prior to starting. We are trying to get pregnant I am 3 days late. There is no sign of a period besides the cramps which have been very mild, almost like twinges and don't last very long. Can you have cramps or other symptoms of pms during your first missed period?

tenderness on your breast is another symptom of pregnanncy. also the period cramping. it could also mean if you have cramps that youll get your period in a few days but hopefully your are pregnant :)

Some other tips are:

- Know your most fertile days. You can work this out with free ovulation calculators online. Try this one: http://www.ovulation-calculator.org/
- Missionary position. Although there aren't any definitive studies to support this, lots of couples do find this position works best.
- Quit smoking, drinking and drugs. These all can greatly diminish your fertility and chances of getting pregnant.
- Become a healthy weight. Women that are overweight or underweight will both experience difficulties when trying to get pregnant, and more importantly, when you do become pregnant, the baby will be more healthy for it.
- Make the best of your man. Well you don't want all his best swimmers flushing down the toilet, do you? No masturbation mister! Also, make sure to save his sperm for when you're most fertile, otherwise his sperm count will be drastically reduced. Make absolutely sure that he's preserving his sperm for the times when your fertility is at its peak. And when you do have sex, be sexy! The more aroused he is, the more sperm he'll ejaculate, which will obviously increase your chances of conception.

All these tips should definitely go a long way towards helping you and your partner to conceive.

Also, have you decided what you'd like the sex to be? Little known fact: male sperm are weaker but swim faster, whereas female sperm are stronger but swim slower. How can we use this? Well, if you get him to ejaculate deep inside of you then you're more likely to have a boy, whereas if the tip of his penis head is barely in when he ejaculates then you're more likely to have a girl. This has been proven scientifically.

The bottle on elmers rubber cement has a warning not to use if pregnant or contemplating being pregnant, and I am 5 weeks, what could the side effects be? I used it for aprox a half hour of time.

Rubber cement contains a chemical called benzene. It is a known reproductive hazard. It evaporates and can be inhaled.

You would probably need to use the product for a long term or consciously inhale it. I doubt a half hour in an open air room would cause harm to your baby, but let your doctor know if it worries you.

What I've been told is that its free if you donate it BUT you have to pay for it obviously if you save it for personal use. However all of my doctors have said that if the baby ever needs the blood for bone marrow etc that it would not be able to use its own because it would just do the same things that the blood he has now is doing. That the baby would end up having to use someone else's blood either way. But you or your family could possibly use it. So overall I would say its not really worth holding on to, I would donate it for the people who need it right now so that if your baby ever needs it in return that someone else would have made the same decision.

Stress and Fatigue can cause morning sickness, and is more common in first pregnancies. There are no cures for morning sickness but there are ways to alleviate symptoms.

*Eat a diet high in protein and complex carbs, both of which fight nausea. general good nutrition may help, too, so eat as well as you can under the circumstances.
*Drink plenty of fluids, especially if you're losing liquid through vomiting. If they are easier to get down than solids when you're feeling green, use them to get your nutrients. Consentrate on any of the following that you can handle: A milk shake, fruit or vegetable juices, soups, broths, and bouillons. If you find fluids make you queasier, eat solids with a high water content, such as fresh fruits and veggies - particularly lettuce, melons, and citrus fruits. some women find that drinking and eating at the same sitting puts too much strain on their digestive tract; if this is true for you, try taking your fluids between meals.
*Take a prenatal vitamin supplement to compensate for nutrients you may not be getting. But take it at a time of day when you are least likely to chuck it back up - possibly with a substantial bedtime snack.
*Avoid food smells that trigger nausea. Choose only sweet foods if they're all you can tolerate (get your vitamin A and protein from yellow peaches and cottage cheese at dinner instead of from broccoli and chicken). Or select only savories if they're your ticket to a less tumultuous tummy (have a grilled cheese and tomato sandwich for breakfast instead of cereal and O.J.).
*Eat early and often - before you feel hungry. When your stomach is empty, its acids have nothing to digest but its own lining. This can trigger nausea. So can the low blood sugar caused by long stretches between meals. Six small meals are better than three large ones.
*Eat in bed - for the same reasons you should eat often; to avoid an empty stomach and to keep your blood sugar at an even keel. Before you go to sleep at night, have a snack that is high in protein and complex carbs: a glass of milk and a bran muffin, for example. Twenty min before you plan to get out of bed in the morning, have a high-carb snack: a few whole-wheat crackers or rice cakes, dry cereal, or a handful of raisins. Keep them next to your bed so you don't have to get up for them.
*Get extra sleep and relaxation.
*Greet the morning in slow motion. Rushing tends to aggravate nausea.
*Try Sea-Bands, (my doc recommended this to those in need) they are one-inch-wide elastic bands, worn on both wrists, put pressure on acupressure points on the inner wrists and often relieve nausea. They cause no side effects and are widely available at drug and health food stores.
*Acupuncture, acupressure, biofeedback, or hypnosis, or just meditate and visualize.
*Turn to ginger, a spice long known for its tummy-taming properties. Try ginger candies, foods prepared with real ginger, real ginger ale - even the smell of fresh ginger can quell the queasies for some women. (Peppermint also works which is why restaraunts give you mints at the end of a meal.. so you don't leave with a belly ache and want to come back).
*If nothing else helps, ask your Dr about a pX of B6 and antihistamines which seems to relieve nausea in some women. Do not take any medication (traditional or herbal) for morning sickness unless it is prescribed by your practitioner.

Can you do Hypnosis while you are pregnant?

My opinion as a professional hypnotherapist is that hypnosis greatly helps during pregnancy. I have given hypnosis sessions to pregnant clients, and they've reported a much calmer, more comfortable time, up to and including the birth experience. And I also teach them to do self-hypnosis, and suggest recorded sessions for them to use, as well.

Self-hypnosis is extremely easy to do, and can help alleviate any anxiousness, stresses or discomfort that a person may experience. If you have had a wonderful experience using self-hypnosis or hypnosis in any form in the past, there is no reason to think you would have a different experience now. To make the best use of it, you can let yourself go into self-hypnosis anytime you like, for 5 minutes, or twenty or on your way into sleep. There are many places where you can find simple instructions about how to do self-hypnosis, or if you like, you may email me from my website and I'll be happy to send you a .pdf of my own version.

Meanwhile, if you like, you can just let your eyes close, and then imagine yourself walking down some steps into a jacuzzi or hot tub...feeling the warm steam on your skin, and the warmth going into your muscles....then sitting in the water and feeling the tensions dissolving, and how very relaxed you can be there, feeling the strong stream of water, sending the warmth deeper into muscles and joints, and feeling the wonderful tickling of the bubbles on your skin, relaxing deeper and deeper, just letting go of all the tensions and stresses of your day. And when you are there, feeling really good, and warm and relaxed, you might decide to visualize everything going really smoothly, experiencing whatever is appropriate for you to experience right now...and when you have done whatever it was that you wanted to do, you can allow yourself to drift off into the wonderful world of sleep, to get exactly the right amount of refreshing rest, that you will awaken completely rejuvenated and ready to start your day in the very best way. And if, for some reason, you want to get up after doing self-hypnosis, you might just imagine instead that in a moment, when you open your eyes, you will feel so much more awake, aware and refreshed, and will feel as if you had a wonderful nap of just the right length.

It's very easy, a natural human capability, and can be extremely helpful to you and your life.

I am 25 weeks and 2 days. Just curious what is the earliest a women could go into labor and the baby surviving. I was watching youtube and this girl had her baby at 24 weeks.

Woo hooo! 25 weeks, getting up there! It is really touch and go and depends on the lung development for survival. This is why they really try to prevent labor until you are full-term at 37 weeks. I know even at 35 weeks when I had contractions every 3-5 minutes they were freaking out. I had to be on bedrest until the 37th week.

There are many stories out there. I had a friend recently that was pregnant with twins. She went into pre-term labor at 27 weeks. They pumped her full of steroids to develop the lungs. Then she went into labor at 30 weeks and they let her give birth as the babies would be able to breath on their own! The only complication was that one of the babies had a collection of under-developed blood vessels and had to have surgery.
However, that was really a miracle. You really want to keep them in as long as possible. I believe the record for the youngest surviving preemie is 21 weeks. Again it all depends on the baby too.

I'd say twins but if you are 10 weeks along then you should of already had your first ultrasound at 8 weeks and they would of seen 2 and not 1. it just depends on the person and how their body reacts.also if you have been pregnant before but had a miscarriage or an abortion you will show sooner also..

We also had trouble conceiving our first child awhile back. We went through the whole "fertility routine" and tried pretty much every medical option that we could afford. The fertility drug Clomid was really touted as the best and we invested a lot of money and hope into that but it just didn't work out in our case. My wife just suffered one side effect after another.

i have pcos.. i take 100 mg of clomid for 5 days from cd2 and 1000 metaformin for 10 days.. its my third month,..i ovulate but i didnt get pregnant.. im on cd21 so its a week :(..hope it works this time.

just track ur ovulation with ur doctor i heard lots of ppl got pregnant while on those medications..so i hope we get pregnant too..

I am personally going by having sex every other day and sometimes more often if I am in the mood. I plan on buying an ovulator predictor kit next month if I don't conceive this month. I started having sex on day 8 of my period. Usually mine last 5-7 days, but this time it was closer to 4 or 5 days. Ovulation is a tricky thing to tract, but I did find a link that someone her mentioned that clued me in more. It lists several signs of ovulation.

Oh, and the best time to have sex to get pregnant is a few days before ovulation up until that day. Then his little guys can meet your egg in the 12-24 hour period it is ripe.

Can you only get pregnant during ovulation or does this only increase your chances?

Answer
You can only get pregnant during ovulation which can happen at any time of the month. If you have sex on Monday and you don't ovulate until Saturday then your chances of getting pregnant are really really slim. The egg is only viable for 12-24 hours and sperm can last in fertile cervical mucus for 3-5 days (five days being a stretch).

So to answer your question you can ONLY get pregnant during ovulation... which can happen any time during the month but the egg has to be there in order to get pregnant. So ovulation doesn't increase your chance... it's your only chance. Can't get pregnant without ovulating.

Ovulation is 12-15 days after your period begins. It is when the egg is open to fertilization.

You can get pregnant ANY time of the month, but - it is more likely during those few days of ovulation.

A penis HAS to be inside of a vagina and release sperm into the vagina in order for a pregnancy to occur. Sperm and the egg have to meet in order for a pregnancy to occur. So, when ovulation happens (when the egg is more available, if you will...), it makes it easier for sperm to reach. And a penis releases sperm when a man ejaculates, meaning a man has an orgasms and releases a fluid called semen which contains sperm.

Also, when a penis is inside of a vagina - it is called sex.

Ovulation occurs whether a penis is around or not.

It's not gross, sweetheart. It's a fact of life. :)

My friend was the same. At 3 months she looked 5 months pregnant. At two months she was already starting to show but she was really thin and petite. Good Luck.

Slow your breathing. The 7-8-9 technique works well. Fill your lungs in 7 seconds, hold it for 8 and slowly exhale over 9 seconds. It may be awkward and unnatural at first, but it will get easier after a while.

As someone who lost 7 babies in 6 miscarriages, I do not enjoy seeing them on the soaps, and Carly has had enough of them already, so I do not wish to see her lose any more babies...so I do not like your "what if" scenario. It's also not a likely scenario because Jason wouldn't take the shot with a child or pregnant woman present, unlike Ian Devlin. All of the mess could have been avoided if that man had an ounce of compassion, and just decided that he'd go after Sonny another day, when none of his children were in the vicinity. Even if he'd have made his mark, what would watching his father shot to death have done to a son?

No, there's been enough violence around the children of Port Charles for a while. How about some more realistic storylines that involve the hospital the show is named for? There was no better drama on television than Maxie, suffering from Kawasaki syndrome, receiving the heart of her beloved cousin BJ, and all the fallout that ensued. There are other ways to tell a dramatic story that don't have to involve guns and shoot-outs and ricocheting bullets.

2 in one leg and 1 in the other every baby takes it differently for me and my son i cryed more then him..the nurse comes in and does it after the visit with the doctor-dress him in something very easy to get on and off and make his next appointment beofre you get in because your going to want to get his clothes on and get home as quick as you can i give him a dose of baby telenol before we go in so it kicks in at just the right time...watching your baby get shots is horrible,stressful and can even make you feel quilty but it far outweights the things he can catch without the shots hang in their and good luck!

Yes you can still get pregnant but it can be difficult. Yes it only takes one sperm but depending on how low his count is in can be very very hard for even 1 to make it. My husband has a low count- 5 million (normal is around 30 million). We ttc for 5 years before getting help. We were told we have about a 5% chance of ever conceiving naturally. We tried IUI's with clomid 3 times and then moved on to IVF. We finally had twin boys after our 2nd try at IVF.

How long did it take you to fall pregnant if yr husband has/had low sperm count?

My husband only has one working testicle. The other was shot with a BB gun. It took over a year to fall pregnant with my first, but only 10 months with my second. What helped us by the 10th month was Horny Goat Weed with Maca Root. I don't know if it was just me, but it seemed like it increased my husband's sperm by a teaspoon and his sex drive was out of this world! Anyway, that's my story. Good luck and baby dust to you if you are trying. Low sperm count can be extremely frustrating, just knowing that there is nothing wrong with *you*. I would definitely consider the Horny Goat Weed though, as silly as it sounds.

There, Mr. Ulman (Tom Noonan), the man who placed the ad, reveals that Samantha will not be babysitting but taking care of his elderly mother in law. Samantha tries to back out but when Mr. Ulman offers her $400 she agrees to stay over Megan's objections. Megan leaves. On the drive home, she stops in a nearby cemetary to have a smoke. When her lighter malfunctions, a young man, Victor (AJ Bowen) suddenly appears in her window and offers her a light. He then asks her if she's the babysitter. This one time I was in bed with a red-eyed sharp teethed demon standing at the foot of it. I usually sleep with my stuffed penguin and the demon jumped inside my penguin and the penguin became demonic. The demonic penguin starting pecking at me and tried to pee on me. I got scared and went diareaha. Snot came out of the penguins nose and he roared some wierd alien noises like the predator from the movie with Arnold Schwartenagger. It was really freaky and I ddin't like it but I ended up kissing the demonic penguin and drinking it's fart juice.

There are certain dietary and herbal supplements and vitamins which are said to increase sperm count. I think L-carnitine is supposed to help. I would check for sure with a doctor or an herbalist. You can also check out the book "The Infertility Cure" by Dr. Randine Lewis. Acupuncture and stress relief is also said to help increase fertility, but this is just a theory. I know that after the hormone treatments and the expensive procedures, I am ready to try some natural remedies, at least for awhile. Good luck in whatever course you choose to take!

How long after a positive ovulation test does the egg drop?

Your egg will essentially drop within 24-48 hours after your positive ovulation test. Please note that it's only positive if the control line is as dark or darker than the test line, or the line on the right. When you get a positive, you need to have sex that day and the next, for the highest chance of pregnancy. A woman that does everything right for trying to conceive has a 20-25% chance of getting pregnant each month, so please note that. If you got a positive test, that means you're having an LH surge, and that your body is gearing up to ovulate. It doesn't mean you're ovulating as speak. You can get a positive and for some reason, your body doesn't release an egg.

If you're trying to get pregnant, ovulation tests are a great way to speed up the process. Something I would suggest that has worked for me and many other couples is a lubricant called 'pre-seed' and you can buy it off amazon, and plenty of other websites! It literally helps the sperm travel up and meet your egg. It helps you get pregnant, and it works. It worked the first month I used it, as well as ovulation tests.

There's nothing else you can really do. Something that has also worked for me is to prop your butt up for 15-30 minutes after sex with a pillow, keep your pelvis elevated. And, also, the missionary (man on top) is considered the best while trying to get pregnant.

If you don't get pregnant within six months to a year, see a reproductive endocrinologist which is basically a doctor that helps couples that struggle with getting pregnant, get pregnant. And, that's a great way to get pregnant REALLY fast. That's the route I'm going right now, after 6 miscarriages, and years and years of trying with my husband. you will probably wanna start charting your menstrual cycles on a calender to keep up with when you are ovulating. it is easier to get pregnant around ovulation. i think it would be better to use a lubricant like kj jelly instead of lotion. good luck

I got pregnant 2 weeks after my miscarriage. I did not have a period in between the time I miscarried and the beginning of my new pregnancy. Would my "last menstrual period" be the first day of my miscarriage? Or how would I calculate my due date?

Your gynaecologist will more than likely do an ultrasound of the baby and take all the measurements of the baby etc.. Then he will be able to calculate a due date for you by estimating how many weeks the baby has been growing inside you.. Good luck

Angel is right. You had an abortion, NOT a miscarriage. Learn the difference. I miscarried and I did nothing to cause it. You chose to end that pregnancy. If you cannot be responsible STOP HAVING SEX. Questions like this make me sick.
