So my best friend has been trying to get pregnant for YEARS now, but has blocked fallopian tubes(blocked with scar tissue) She was looking into IVF, but it costs SO MUCH and she is having a hard time finding insurance to cover it. I am currently pregnant, and she is so supportive and happy for me, but I feel so bad, because I know it hurts her that she is not still. So she has contacted a few different herbalist, and they claim that these herbs can unblock her tubes. Has anyone tried this, and did it work? If anyone knows a lot about this stuff, she would love to pick your brain!

Based on my own experience I am now pregnant after taking two herbs called Vitex (Or Chaste tree berry or Chasteberry tree) and Red Raspberry leaf capsules. Both herbs promote fertility and can even help some women get pregnant who have endometriosis and or PCOS. These are physical reasons why some women can't get pregnant. Vitex helps to even out the female sex hormones, but it's not a fast acting herb. It can take from 2 months to 18 months so be patient and don't stress! This is also good for PMS symptoms and cramps as is red raspberry! Of course stop taking this as soon as you find out you are pregnant!!! Many women who have PCOS or endometriosis take this to help their bodies get back into regularity to be fertile and have less reproductive problems along with taking other nutrients. A naturopathic/homeopathic doctor is the best to talk to about this. Sometimes chiropractors and herb shop workers can tell you where to find a good one.
Red raspberry leaf can be taken in capsule form or in tea form (does not taste like the berry). It is very good for toning the uterus for pregnancy and is every very healthy to keep taking after you are pregnant. It helps to keep strengthening the uterus and nourishes you and the baby. It helps with morning sickness and can help with reducing the time of labor and delivery. It even helps promote milk flow after the baby is born and helps the uterus recovery more quickly by going back to its normal size and position. Also helps with PMS and cramps! ;-)
A couple of other things you can try is finding a whole food vitamin that is less likely to be made of man-made vitamins along with enzymes and probiotics to help digestion and nutrient absorbtion. I personally take Nature's Way Alive whole food multivitamin, which has many good things in it. Also, try taking Cal-Mag by Country Life (1000 mg of Calcium and 500 mg of Magnesium). I get all of these supplements from www.vitacost.com a LOT cheaper than the prices you'll find in herb shops. Take the Nature's Answer Vitex at 40 mg (one capsule per day). Red raspberry plants are food so you can drink up to about half a gallon of red raspberry leaf tea if you want although I don't think that is necessary and there are always capsule forms if you can't stand tea. I take Nature's Way Red Raspberry at two capsules a day along with the tea. Yogi tea and Traditional Medicinals are both herbal tea brands that are at the top of their game. They sell teas for energy, monthly cycles, red raspberry by itself, and even pregnancy teas that safe to help ease morning sickness during pregnancy. You might be able to find them at a drug store or even a grocery store like Kroger or Ingles.
Take any supplement with food because it helps the nutrients to absorb better and helps prevent stomach upset.
In the meantime, a doctor is the only who can see if there are any physical causes for any infertility issues you might have. I like to try the natural way first. I tried Vitex for a year and two months ago added the red raspberry leaf capsules and the BAM I find out I'm about 4 weeks preg! lol
