Can I host an event in my neighborhood?

I live in a large subdivision and I am wanting to throw a huge event (there will be a live band, games, etc etc) to raise money for familys who cannot afford to buy their own household needs, baby things and such.
Am I allowed to do this or do I need a permit or something?
Do you have any ideas for me? (Ones that would attract more people, etc.)
Is the live band a good idea?

You shouldn't need a permit if you hold the event on your own property. Is there a park area or pavilion area in your subdivision that would offer more space to hold the party? If you do it there, you will probably need to reserve the area with your association board.

You need to be careful not to spend money that could be used for your cause. A live band is expensive, unless you have a guitar playing brother or band who is willing to donate their services. People want to make sure that the money they are giving will be used responsibly, and believe me, "responsibly" means very different things to different people. You want to make sure the financial part of this is totally above board, visible to anyone who has any inquiries. You may want to open a special temporary account at a bank in the name of your event, and deposit money there. It makes the whole thing look more official.

One question people are going to have is if they can donate items, or if this is just a money making event. By letting people donate "new or gently used" items, you can reach many more of those you seek to help. Keep in mind that if someone donates something that's too worn, discolored, or broken you may have to dispose of it yourself rather than pass it on to your cause. I once had someone donate something that had been in their basement. They didn't smell the mustiness of it in their own home, but I sure did when she dropped it off. She meant well, but I threw it away in my own trash can rather than give it to someone else.

Have some way of keeping track of the money raised at the event- paint a big red thermometer on a piece of tag-board and update it as the day goes on.

Things to sell at the event to raise money: bottles of water, cans of pop, muffins, cookies.

Have a section where kids can make a craft for a certain amount of money. Flip flops are on sale at JoAnn Fabrics for a dollar a pair, and they have little flip flop decorating kits you can buy for 50% off. It would be cute to have a "make your own flip flops" table and charge $3.00 per pair to decorate, or something.

Other Ideas you could charge money for:
Photo Booth
craft of making a photo frame
Ball Toss
Penny Wishing Well (100% profit because they are throwing in money)
Balloons
decorate a T Shirt with puffy paint

Things to auction off or have a silent auction:
go to stores and ask for donations, then make up gift baskets.
sporting event tickets that have been donated
someone donates a weekend at their cabin
a quilt

could I knit a big adult blanket like this?

I haven't really seen any easy way to kit a king size blanket. So would it be possible to do it by kitting baby size blankets together. Also what patterns are more stabble than others when it comes to this. I'm new to this so please explain thoroughly. I'm making it as a gift so I would like it to not wear too easily. Also I haven't bought materials yet so what's good to use for this project?

it would be difficult on your neck and shoulders to knit something of that size, you could knit squares and then sew them together like a quilt or you could make long strips and sew them together , yarn is expensive and for doing a project of that sort you will need a lot of it , if you were to knit squares of different colours you could save yourself some money if you purchase the yarn little a the time just make sure that you always get the same weight ,

Also how do you feel when you hear about horrific crimes against small helpless babies? I am majoring in Social Work and I want to work with abused kids and know I will face some really bad situations I am still in training and know that I need to toughen my heart a little because I hear stories I just want to break down and cry and then I wish evil things would happen to the child's abusers . How do you guys feel?

I started out in social work and couldn't handle it when I had to counsel a rapist. :/ It takes a really strong person!
Anyways.... I feel they should be given a drug to paralyze them and make them helpless but still able to feel pain and I believe they should be tortured. That's just me though. :)

How long does it take to get pregnant after the pill?

I was on the pill for over 5 years. However, I stopped taking them on May of this year. I havent had my period for over 2 months but I am not pregnant according to 3 home pregnancy test. How long does it usually take to get pregnant after been on the pill for a while?

It varies...They say that the "pill" is out of your system within 3-4 months. I was on it for 4 years, and have been ttc since nov of 2006. My luteal phase (the part of your cycle after ovulation) is short --this is a side after of the pill, so I am taking b6 and vitex to help increase the progestrone and length of that part of my cycle. I have only been on the vitex for 2 mths. AF is due any day now....it usually takes 2-3 months for any vitamins or herbs to work. If your not having your Period yet you may want to call your dr. to give you something that will help you to start. the vitex is supposed to help this too, if you want a nature remedy first.

How can taking all three herbs such as Vitex , Evening premrose oil and stinging nettle all together?

I am answering some questions here. Giving my advice on what helped me get pregnant. I am copying and pasting my answer since it is so long so I dont have to retype it all here. So disregard what does not pertain to you and maybe it can help you. I dont know about the herbs you are stating above but this again is what helped me I am listing below. Good luck...
I am now pregnant with my 5th child due Sept. 22nd. This baby was a twin they believe they seen another sac that deteriorated early on in pregnancy. I have had 7 miscarriages 1 was ectopic. I also have endometriosis so they think that is why I miscarry a lot. I am 30 weeks pregnancy. So I may have had another miscarriage. So I can relate to what you are going through.
I am also a medical assistant. It can take 18-24 months to get pregnant at times doctors say when you come off of birth control. So it could take a while. At least you know your tubes are not blocked, and you did have a laprascopy so if you had any endometriosis they would have removed it. When I miscarry I have to almost always get a D&C laprascopy done or I will miscarry again the next time around.
I am sorry you have to go through this, also I am sorry about your ectopic. Loss can be very hard. At least your body has had time to heal after the ectopic. The doctor can put you on fertility pills to help aid with getting pregnant. They usually will put you on clomid which has strong side effects it makes you very moody and can cause depression all sorts of things. Also, you have a high chance at having multiples when taking this. You will have heavy periods and pass a lot of clots when you get your period if you dont get pregnant that month. I took this once, yes I got pregnant but I had an ectopic. I took it again after for a few months and I got pregnant with my son. I would not go on clomid again I doubt because of the ectopic.
Last December the doctors told me I could not have anymore kids due to my endometriosis. I had to get a hysterectomy they said. I was bleeding constantly for 9 months. I even got a second oppinion. Well I searched the internet and found something called ovulex. They even have a fertility for men to take my fiance took called amberoz. They guarentee you will get pregnant or your money back. It is very safe, it is all herbal made from herbs. So I baught it and took it, I only took it a few days and I got pregnant the first month. I am now 30 weeks pregnant. I was very skeptic but thought I had nothing to lose. It worked for me. There are also other products that are cheaper like fertile aid or something like that I never tried that so I dont know if that works. But I am happy I proved the doctors wrong. If you have fertility problems this ovulex helps aid those problems too.
This is just what I tried and it worked for me. You can find it on the internet. I am not sure what the website is. I know you have to buy it off the internet though they dont sell it in the pharmacies also you do not need a perscription either for now. They may change that in the future though. I also had no side effects when I took the ovulex nor did my fiance when he took the amberoz.
Also, you should have intercourse daily whenever possible to make sure you hit the day of ovulation helps. And after having intercourse put a pillow under your bottom and raise your feet up for a good half hour each time can help they say. Also, dont where tight clothes, and have your partner not where tight undies boxers are best while trying to get pregnant. Tight briefs can cut off circulation and lower his sperm count.
I would take ovulex again which I may in the future, I want more kids. I never even had to get a laprascopy this time. I usually miscarry and it helped me. I have a 75 % chance at miscarrying when I get pregnant. Well good luck and take care.

What are the odds of prenancy on day 8 of cycle?

Hey everyone. My period is a week late. I had protected sex (condom) on day 8 of my cycle (I'm usually just about done menstruating about that time. But this is the first time I stopped bleeding on day 6). My boyfriend did *** inside, and he's sure that the condom didn't break.
I have a regular cycle between 23-25 days. This is the first time that my cycle has surpassed 28 days. I've also been sexually active for about 3 months to which a condom is always used. I've been getting symptoms of period, stomach cramps, tender breast and cravings for sweets. But still no period.

I know that there are other factors that may cause a delay in getting your Period.
I've also recently moved to another country for a long holiday. So I've been out waking all day, everyday for about 3 weeks now (literally! To the point where I can't walk anymore). I also started cycling. Do you think that this change in lifestyle delayed my period? Or is there a possibility that I'm pregnant? I'm not on the pill atm, but will definitely go for it once my holiday over.
I will take a pregnancy test when I can. I'm too scared to let my friends know about this. I've had a couple of sleepless nights with just the thought of it all.

I'm 21 years old btw.

With a cycle as short as yours 23-25 days it is extremely likely for you to ovulate on cycle day 9 or 10 and sperm live inside a fertile uterus awaiting an egg for 3-4 days... So sex on day 8 and ovulation within 2 days it is highly likely that if any got through the condom that you are pregnant...

As you are on the younger side you probably don't know that sex before ovulation is more likely to lead to pregnancy than that on ovulation day or after...

This last pregnancy my cycles were 27 days (we are married and trying) and we had sex cycle day 8 and I ovulated cycle day 9 and conceived a healthy baby boy who is 3 weeks old...

Because you used a condom and it didn't break you should be ok but then again condoms do have a fail rate... If you aren't pregnant and don't want to be you should combine 2 forms of birth control.. Condom and contraceptive or condom and pull out...

Very highly unlikely. The pill itself is very high success rate. It works in a couple different ways, it stops a woman from ovulating but just in case ovulation happens it thickens the mucous and makes the environment very sperm unfriendly. Add that with condoms, which are pretty successful when used correctly themselves. I think you are double safe;.

I know it sounds awful, but if you know my parents you would understand. I'm afraid I might have a chance of being pregnant and I'm 16. I heard there are abortion clinics you can go to and get a quick easy operation for 200 dollars in some places. But can you do it like anonamously? Or do my parents need to sign something? I know abortion is wrong but idk what else to do. Helpp

It depends on where you live. But everywhere except New York, New Jersey, and California require at least one parent's consent to it. Plus you need to give medical information. It would be best to just tell your parents because if something goes wrong, and your parents didn't know you got an abortion, then they will treat it as like a normal cold or stomach virus when you could have something serious happening.

Freeze ahead meals for when baby comes?

Hi! I'm 34 weeks pregnant and am looking for some quick and easy ideas for meals to freeze ahead for when our baby comes. So far I have white chicken chili and lasagna. Chili--make your favorite chili , cook & freeze--when ready, stick it in the oven with a pan of packaged corn bread mix--add salad


Buy a bag of pre-made meatballs--toss in crockpot with a package of little smokies (which can also be frozen), a small jar of grape jelly & a bottle of BBQ sauce--Cover & cook low 6-8 hours--add a tube of canned biscuits & fruit salad


Meatballs can also be baked & heated in a pasta sauce for subs--Add onion, peppers, etc


Chicken rolls--Pound skinless, boneless breasts flat-- freeze--when ready, thaw, then put a stick of string cheese on each--roll up & secure with toothpick--set in baking pan & pour pasta sauce over--spriinkle with grated parmesan--bake 45-60 min at 350--bake a panof scalloped potatoes at the same time

I'm in last year of school -17. It feels my whole life was put on fast forward. I'm not repeating or doing anything for a year. If i don't go college next year i'll never go. The problem it scaring me . I cry at the thought.

1.Like moving out of home ... but i snore and i'm freaking out because no one wants a girl that snores. Any tips or medicine idea?

Don't worry about it or compare yourself against random pointless stereotypes. Be the best you you can be.

And also be concerned about what you're actually there for - learning. None of these questions seem to have anything to do with that, which is a problem.

Apply for colleges that match your learning and career interests. If you want to escape parental control (a good idea to grow up...) go away for school. Start in residence to make friends and live semi-independently but with some support.

As for social life, be you. Don't worry about conforming to stereotypes about sex/partying. Do what comes naturally. And if you're going to be sexually active, get educated - look after yourself, learn how sex works and how safer sex works, and insist on the latter.

I am trying to decide what supplement to get. I am 15 weeks pregnant and getting ready to go and buy a supplement for omega-3 specifically DHA/EPA. I need something that is definately safe during pregnancy. I live in a really small town too and the only prenatal omega-3 supplement I found has no EPA in it...only DHA. I just need to know what supplements are ok and what to look for to know that it is safe. I know what fish to look for and I know to make sure it is pure. Any other tips? What supplement would you recommend? Thanks so much.

I would like to better understand why getting off cotraception helps women get pregnant faster. My sister in law stopped b/c and got pregnant in three months. Does this help women only with normal cycles? What is the reasoning behind this, anyone know?

While on the pill & take it effectively you have less than 1% chance of pregnancy..... When your off it & have unprotected sex you have a 20-25% chance per cycle over 6 months.

NOBODY tries to get pregnant while using birth control...!

I first felt mine at around 14 weeks. It's like a little flutter..it's like a small vibrating feeling in your tummy. You won't be able to feel it on the outside. But make sure that you are not suffering from gas pains because this can easily be mixed up with the flutter movements of your baby!

I'm 18 weeks tomorrow and first felt my little one kick me the other day! You will know the difference between a kick and a flutter because a kick is much stronger. I felt it and it felt magical :) I tried eating ice cream and putting ice on my belly last night to try and make him/her kick but it never happened. But I have heard that this works for some people!

What to expect at 40 week Non Stress Test?

I haven't had any changes... no more dilation, etc. I am scheduled 3 days after my due date, a little less than a week from now, to have a Nonstress test. What should I expect? If they don't like what they see, will I be induced right away (assuming I make it until my appointment)?

i had several of those throughout both of my pregnancies...they hook you up to a contraction monitor to test the babies heart rate and movements =) its fun to hear your baby for awhile...you just laydown and relax no biggie!!! you and the baby will be just fine =) no worries!!! they just like to see so many movements in an hours time....if baby is asleep they use the baby alarm..lol its a vibrating thing they stick to your belly and buzz it...you can feel them jump it is hilarious!!! lol or they just have your guzzle down apple juice and crackers =) youll be fine...take a magazine with you =) good luck hun!!!

What (non pureed) foods do you give your baby?

My son is 6.5 months and clearly wants our food. He makes chewing motions and reaches for whatever you're eating. I would like to start giving him some non - pureed foods, but don't really know where to start. I've given him banana, but he just spits it back out. He doesn't like fruits of any kind. I know that you're supposed to start offering the standards - cooked sweet potato, carrot, banana, avocado, well done pasta etc. but I was wondering what some of you all have done.

I began by giving our son our food, but of course chopped very finely. I'd make extra so that I could portion them and freeze them for extra. I would chop up chicken, beef, pork very tiny and mix it with a vegatable for his dinners (squash, zucchini, carrots, broccoli, asparagus, beets, corn, baked potato, sweet potato) In order to help it not be too dry or "solid", I'd mix about 2 tbs of rice or oatmeal baby cereal with a bit of water and then add the meat and veggie to this. It was all mixed together, but HE LOVED IT! Then, he began to progress quickly to larger pieces of foods.

I would mash up a banana and give it to him for breakfast. Then I began not mashing it up as much... and eventually he associated the banana taste and would grab for anything banana!!! Also, I would mix some apple flavored baby cereal (oatmeal) with applesauce... he loved that too!

My son didn't really like cantalope or watermelon at first, but after a couple of days, he got the hang of it. I think they're more turned off by the texture than the actual taste.

Good luck! It's so much easier once you're off the jars. Next time around I'll do it sooner! (of course, more pureed...but with our leftovers)

When do you give your baby meat for the first time?

My baby is 8 months. She just got her first tooth. She does the chewing motion and she can pick stuff up with her fingers (finger and thumb) I've just been giving her either bought baby food veggies and fruits or blending them myself. Is she ready for the next step? She just started crawling. What foods do I give her? I've given her mashed potatoes but that is it off of our plates. I heard blended up checken breast is what you start with but at what age or stage?

you can give her just about any table food -vegetable or meat - you like now.
Chicken is the easiest to add to a mashed meal but beef/pork/lamb minced meat is great too when she is just starting.
Casseroles that are slow cooked with diced beef or lamb and lots of vegies will just crumble so if you cut the pieces nice and small, when you mash all the meat and vegetables together the meat will just be blended into it.
She shouldn't need any purees anymore, mashed is fine with small chunks that smoosh up easily when she puts it in her mouth.

Try making a sheppards pie with minced beef and gravy mix, mixed steamed vegetables added into the meat and mashed potato on top....eat that for dinner with hubby and then mash up and freeze the leftover portions for her!

I always mixed lots of different things together to make tasty interesting meals for my kids. They get bits of everything that way, even zuchinni, cabbage, brocolli, brussels sprouts, squash....you name it my 12mth old son eats it!
I find that mashed potato, pumpkin or sweet potato mixed into any meals makes the mashing easier

Oh, and a great finger food to keep her occupied and develop her fine motor skills is frozen peas! My kids LOVE them and my 12 mth old will sit in his highchair for half an hour picking peas off his tray and eating them, he especially likes it when he is cutting a tooth as they are lovely and cold! And its healthy!

She has been coughing mainly at night for the last 3 days, and the congestion gets worse at night. We have been using saline drops and an aspirator and seems to be working well. during the day she gets a little congested, but not as bad as at night. She also is not eating quite as much, and has been spitting up a bit more.

Here is a lot you can do for a cough at home:

For mild coughs, use cough drops or cough Medications. In cough and cold medications, there is either a "cough suppressant" to reduce the cough or a "cough expectorant" to thin thick phlegm. Some medications contain both a cough suppressant and an expectorant. Generally, medications containing a cough suppressant should be avoided if you are coughing up phlegm.

An example of the most common cough suppressant in over the counter Robitussin DM. Do not try to suppress coughs that produce mucus and phlegm. Cough suppressants are best used in the late stages of a respiratory infection when the cough is dry and hacking.

To loosen and cough up thick phlegm, try using a cough medication like plain Robitussin.

If she's having coughing spasms, give plenty of warm fluids and inhaled warm mist. The reason is that both relax the airway and loosen up the phlegm.


Give plenty of liquids (6-8 glasses of water daily). If the air in your home is dry, use a humidifier. in the room. Smoking or being exposed to smoke makes coughs much worse. It's safe to give Liquid Motrin for a baby. Or you can use allergy and cold liquid syrup so the baby can sleep at night without the paroxysmal coughing; as she needs the rest.



Viral bronchitis causes a cough that lasts 1 to 3 weeks. Sometimes you may cough up lots of phlegm. The mucus can normally be white, gray, yellow or green. Be sure to call your doctor if your baby's cough lasts more than 3 weeks.

Why isn't my sim showing that she's pregnant?

One of my female adult sims is pregnant, but it's two days later now and she has no visible sign of a bump. She isn't even wearing maternity clothes. I know 100% she's pregnant because the little noise happened and when the option "Try for baby" isn't available. Why isn't she pregnant? What can I do? I can't even try for another baby because the option isn't avaialble.

Yea, it's probably just a glitch, I know that glitch is somewhat common. It can also be a problem caused by custom content sometimes too though.

Hopefully one of the first three answerers helped you, if not then try this instead:

boolprop testingcheatsenabled true (in the lot or out, it won't matter in this case)

Shift-click on her and then find the option to Force Error. Click on that and now you'll see three more options. Cancel, Reset or Delete. Click on Reset.

Now open the cheat box back up and type:

boolprop testingcheatsenabled false

If even that doesn't fix her, then you may need to try to figure out if you might have some custom content that is causing a problem with her. Especially look for any custom skins as sometimes those skins won't "show" the pregnancy even though the sim should be showing.

Oh, and some custom clothing doesn't have a "pregnancy" state either so if she's wearing custom clothing that may also prevent the pregnancy from showing. Just depends on how the creator made the clothing.

2nd eta -- yea, you're right again, Melethana. Mine do to. But one time I invited another playable (very pregnant) sim to a wedding and she showed up in Formal wear and didn't look at all pregnant. After the wedding was over I went into that sims' house and she was still very definitely pregnant. So I just thought that maybe cc clothing made a difference. Sorry about that. Oh, but I just downloaded Squinge's Pregnant Wear Anything hack and with that hack, you have to make sure that the cc clothing comes with a Pregnancy Morph mesh or they won't actually look pregnant I guess.

My husband is coming home in a couple of months from Iraq for his leave of 18 days. We would like to get pregnant while he is home so he can experience the birth and the first year of his childs life when he returns home from this deployment and before he leaves for his next deployment. Here are some things you should try:

-First, know when you are ovulation. Most women ovulate about 2 weeks after their period starts (count starting with the first day of your period). If you want to be sure, I recommend buying a ClearBlue fertility monitor. It took me one month to get pregnant using this. You can get one off of Ebay brand new for cheaper than at a drugstore, just a tip. I do recommend putting out the money to purchase it, it will tell a couple of days before you ovulate so that you start trying. You want to have sex the week leading up to ovulation (at least every other day) and the day of ovulation of course.

-Second, I also recommend PreSeed, it is a natural lubricant that helps with sperm travel. I loved this stuff, it's great. A lot of lubricants kill most of the sperm so that your chances of conceiving are lower. You can also buy this on Ebay, or you can order it directly from their website (preseed.com).

-Third, after you baby dance, put a pillow under your bottom and lay in bed for at least 30 minutes before getting up. I layed there all night sometimes because I wanted to maximize my chances...but some people wouldn't recommend it because of the chance of getting a UTI.

-Just relax, eat healthy, and know that it will happen!!

I have been using birth control for about 9 years now and have recently stopped taking it about 1 month now. I was due to get my period 1 week ago. I don't feel any signs of me being pregnant. My system could just be different now, since I've stopped taking the pill. I was just wondering if I am not pregant now, if there is a certain time period I have to wait since I have been off the pill in order to get pregnant? I am in my late 20's, if that makes a difference. I am just curious if being on the pill for the amount of time I was on it will effect me getting pregnant quickly or if I will have to wait a little while before it is out of my system. It can take your body up to a year to get regular again. When you were on the pill it was like clockwork when your period would come because you don't ovulate it's a totally different kind of cycle.
I got off the pill a year before we knew we want to TTC. I'm glad I did, I only got my period every 6 weeks for 6 months and then for the last 6 months I never got it at all so I had to go and get a bunch of test done at my OB office. They all came back ok I just have cysts on my ovaries. So they put me on Provera to jump start a period and Clomid to make me ovulate. I now get my period every 28 days on my own. If you notice in the next couple of months you are still very irregular then go see your dr. but they will probably tell you to wait a year and then see how your body is working. make sure you keep a chart of your cycles.

shortly after i got pregnant i bloated up a few lbs, lost it all from throwing up until i was 14 weeks, gained nothing until 20 weeks and since then, i've gained 25 lbs..but i'll be the first to admit i'm a horrible eater. I guess it depends on how your pregnancy is going, where you're at in your pregnancy and how well you're taking care of yourself.

Why is acceptable for pregnant teens to continue going to public school while pregnant?

I am bothered by pregnant girls going to the same school as my daughter and flaunting their bellies everywhere. I understand they need an education, but I am afraid that this is encouraging other girls, like my daughter, that unwed, underage, pregnant girls are something to be proud of. i can relate.. i was a teen mom in high school, i on the other hand felt embarressed! so i left high school and enrolled in a maternity school, for some reason or another children today think being pregnant is cute... i found it sad, confused, depressing. but also on the other hand can we really judge the kids i mean really.. did we try to impress kids or boys in our days did we do the drugs and drink, go clubing. yes we won't the best for our children and we DON'T won't them to make the same mistakes as we did. so can we really judge them??? high school is not a place for pregant teens, once a teen start showing i feel they should be transferred to a maternity school.

Well, I have PCOS and I was put on Metformin to help with that and I now have twins. My mother was RH negative and I think that they had to give her a shot of something to make her body compatible to carry babies, she had 3 with no problem. I don't know much about protein s deficiency so I can't help you there, but I don't see why you cannot have children. Good luck in the future!

I also hope you have at least $2,000 put up encase you need an emergency c-section or to cover any of the other complications that can happen. Oh and to answer your question 63-65 days. It's been hitting me harder than I had expected. I've been on Prozac for years but anti-anxiety meds were just added too, as needed. I am surprised at how little it actually takes to set me off lately.

I have never been a Preg yet but my sister-in-law had to do miscarriage @ about 6moths and it was hard, i was beside her like a dumb person, i didnt really know how to explain it to her. Except telling that you will have another chance insha'Allah and it is the will of Allah.
But MashaAllah she was braved and always said that perhaps it was my destiny and whatever Allah wills.

I would say the same to you, although i can't imiagine how much grief you are feeling, but as a woman i know it is hard. Please be patient Allah will reward you with something really better, i.e a place in Al-Jannah. As you know all of our Prophet Muhammad (Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)'s sons died @ a very really age.
I heard an incident when his (PBUH) son Ibrahim passed away, the prophet (PBUH) came home after hearing this news and held the dead baby boy and only said "Ibrahim you have given me great grief" and not even one tear feel from the eyes of the Prophet (PBUH) and he (PBUH) looked up @ the sky and said "oh Allah as you will". See how the Prophet (PBUH) has so much patience and how he (PBUH) accpeted the Decree of Allah.

Sister InshaAllah, Allah will recompence you, in the hearafter. Just make a lot of dua as it is Ramadan now, and i will too make dua for you inshaAllah.

Can a healthy diet increase fertility in a average sized person with PCOS?

I haven't been tested but I believe I may have PCOS. I am not overweight. I am 5'4" 134 pounds so I am average. I have never had a problem with weight my whole life. I have read however that eating a low GI diet may help increase fertility. I have been trying to get pregnant for close to 7 months now with no success. Would eating a low GI diet help me at all since I am not overweight?

Low Glycemic Index (GI) foods are a good place to start, and here's why:

I'd say, yes, diet can absolutely have a positive affect on PCOS. One of the best recommendations I have it to limit any food that raises blood sugar quickly. This includes refined sugars, flours, grains...this is true b.c. increased blood sugar contributes to insulin resistance and insulin uptake--both factors in PCOS.

To start out on a PCOS friendly diet, try eliminating any white foods (potatoes, breads, flour, sugar) and turn toward complex carbohydrates (fruits, veggies) proteins and omega-3 high fats (such as salmon and grass-fed animal products) if you consume meat. You can also buy omega-3 rich eggs.

You can test your BMI here--which admittedly is not the most accurate device, since it overlooks muscle mass relative to height, but it gives you an idea of where you are, approximately.

Otherwise, you can add certain sugar-regulating herbs into your diet (cinnamon, gymnema sylvestrae, bitter melon, etc.) into you diet.

Unfortunatley you may well have to rely on stimulation of your ovaries with Clomid (many women rely on this and it is very successfull). Your doctor may also discuss a drug called Metformin with you. So we're not talking major fertility treatment like IVF or any other procedures, just tablets or injections. Of course go ahead and try naturally, that might work too. Usually with PCOS cases, unlike unexplained infertility, they can tell very quickly with some blood tests that you are not ovlating, and you will be given treatment, they wont make you try naturally for a year before they investigate, as they already know what the problem is. Dont worry, PCOS doesnt mean you cant have children.

What methods fastest? and How long does it usually take you to make a baby blanket or a throw? Crochet, knitting? I don't like quilting. I dont care if its plain just something basic please. So far I've just been crocheting granny squares and I feel like I'll never finishing.

The quickest way to make a blanket would be to get a very large piece of felt, maybe edge it with strips of cotton fabric, voila blanket. Crafts like knitting, crochet and sewing all depend on your skill level, so I (a decent knitter but a beginner crocheter) could knit a baby blanket in maybe two weeks of spare time, 8 days knitting constantly but would take months to crochet one. If you're already accomplished in a particular craft then pick that one but don't start a craft with such a massive project!

Rather than make the whole thing yourself why don't you ask other friends of the mother to contribute, even the mother herself could join in. Set up a session at your house where everyone gets together for a coffee and gossip and makes granny or knitted squares at the same time. At the end all the different squares can be crocheted together into a full blanket for the baby.

Measure, cut and sew with accuracy and the projects will be successful.

Most books and tutorials will recommend using a rotary cutter and mat. These cutters are rolling razor blades and you need to be extremely cautious when using one. You can get the same accuracy using scissors.

Do purchase and use a quilting ruler.

im 5 weeks pregnant and already have a set of idential twin girls who are 2.
i had a ultascan at 6weeks with my girls and didnt find out i was expecting twins untill my 13 week scan.
i have fallen naturally with both pregnancys.
is there any test that can be done this early on to find out if im excepting 2 or even more?

Nope not really, just an ultrasound. They probably missed it last time at a 6 week scan because sometimes at 6 weeks all that can be seen is a gestational sac and in the case of identical twins there would only be one gestational sac so it would look like a single pregnancy. If you got a scan a couple of weeks later (7.5 weeks or so) an ultrasound would show a fetal pole inside the sac. If there are 2 fetal poles inside the sac then you are pregnant with identical twins.
