tips on getting pregnant!?

J&R__

okay this question isn't for me i know im 16! don't be all nosey and say that im to young its not for me but my cuzins been trying to get pregnant and she just wants to know a few tips of a higher chance of getting pregnant fast

Answer
My sister used ovulation predictors daily for two months. The first month they didn't succeed but the second month they did. They cost like $17 for a month supply of the ones she used. She swears that's how they conceived so fast. Her and her husband tried for over a year and a half on the first child so two months is a big difference.

Also, after intercourse she propped pillows under her hips and stayed elevated like that for 20 minutes. She swears that this and the ovulation predictors helped...

I myself wasn't trying to conceive when I conceived my baby boy =). Don't get me wrong, i'm thrilled about my surprise but I can't offer her any advice of my own.

TIPS/ADVICE ON GETTING PREGNANT? ?

Faith

My husband I had a miscarriage fixing to be a year ago on the 29 of this month! And we are trying to conceive again! Any tips on getting pregnant sooner? We have been tryin since and haven't conceived yet. We have not done all the tests and stuff though.

Answer
My very best tip is, don't try. Stop contraception and Just have sex whenever it takes your fantasy(excuse the pun). If you worry about ovulation dates and thermometers etc, then it will take longer and be more stress full. Also just make sure your both healthy, cut down on alcohol and if you smoke stop. get hubby to wear loose fitting boxers. Do this and i think it will happen sooner rather than later. good luck.

to have twins ?

marylovefa

how can you have twins [get pregnatnt with a twins i am to shy to ask some one in face because there is sex included i supose

Answer
Get Pregnant on BC, I have quite a few friends who got pregnant on it and most had twins, it says right on the paper that comes with the BC that if you get pregnant on it you have a chance of having multiples. ..Another one is most people who get pregnant in there 40's have a high risk of twins, look at celebrities for instance and look at how many who had kids in there 40's and had twins.

You could also try the following I found online

old wise Chinese Doctor, that if you want to conceive Twins naturally, here is the recipe:
B6 vitamin (200mg daily)
Calcium (1000mg daily)
Yams (Freshly brewed in a Juicer)
Apparently all three of those things must be used on a daily basis to ensure a naturally stimulated ovary that will ovulate at least 2 eggs a month.

What are my chances of having twins?

Joyous Mom

We are going to try to get pregnant. Twins run on my dad's side, could I get pregnant with twins?

We haven't tried getting pregnant yet, it actually took ONLY one try with my son so we are very careful now. If I was to take Clomid would my chances increase a lot more than average because of genetics and my high fertility?
My dad's side meaning that twins run on HIS side of the family. He had identical twin aunts and my dad's sister's daughter (my cousin Deanna) got pregnant with twins, etc.
To clarify on my curiousity of clomid...

I'm just curious about what effects would it have on a person like me. I didn't know about my dad's side until YESTERDAY. I never spent much time w/ my dad's family.

My husband and I want to get pregnant again and since only yesterday I found out about twins in my family I began studying it today. I looked up my chances and everywhere I went they mentioned the drug clomid. So I'm just wondering what effect, if any, it would have on a person with high fertility and a history of twins on her father's side.

I'm not going to TRY for twins, one more is enough for me.
ALSO there are both fraternal and identical in my father's family tree.
ljb - Thanks for the awesome answer, that's a relief! lol Twins are awesome and everything, but I can't imagine the strain of carrying them. That and I also can't imagine taking care of two newborns, I felt like a zombie with just my one son. The lack of sleep would be ungodly.

Whew, really that is a relief! THANKS! That stress is now gone. :-)

Answer
Could you get pregnant with twins? Yes, but the history on your dad's side of the family won't increase your chances, so in the absence of any other "risk" factors that would increase your chance of having twins you have the same chance as anyone else. Your father's family history doesn't come into play because: 1) the incidence of identical twinning is still scientifically considered to be a random event such that having identical twins in the family does not (so they say) effect a person's chance of having twins; 2) the incidence of fraternal twinning, which does have a genetic component, matters from a family history standpoint when it runs on the mother's side. As for "high fertility" -- you were very lucky to try for only one cycle and get pregnant, but you can't conclude from that that you or your husband is especially or unusually fertile....you had perfect timing and everyone's eggs and sperm were in order, and you were lucky!

Sorry for the cut and paste, but I've pasted below a previous answer I gave to someone who wanted to know what made a person more likely to have twins -- hope it's useful.

Whatever happens, best of luck!
-------------------------------------
Factors that increase a woman's chance of conceiving fraternal twins:

* family history of fraternal twinning *on the mother's side* (Trace it back through the women. In other words, if your mother's *father* has a history of twins in the family, it makes no difference; it would have to be your mother's mother...her mother...etc.)

* age: women over 30 are more likely to release multiple eggs during ovulation

* weight: recent studies show that overweight women are more likely to have twins

* height: those same studies suggest that taller women are more likely to have twins

* prior pregnancies: women who had four or more previous pregnancies are more likely to conceive twins

* you've already had twins: if you've had 'em before, you're more likely to have 'em again. (Note it's still unusuall to have more than one set of fraternal twins. Remember that having increased odds of having twins is still having pretty small odds, relatively speaking.)

* race/cultural background: for example, African American women are statistically more likely to conceive twins than Asian women.

* the use of certain fertility drugs

* diet: yes, I know, most people here will scoff at this. But in fact a study published in the Journal of Reproductive Medicine in the Spring of 2006 reported that diet does effect one's chances of having twins, and, specifically, that women with a diet high in animal protein, and especially dairy, are several times more likely to have twins than vegan women (who eat no animal protein). There has also been scientific conjecture about yams and twinning, based largely on the fact that a Nigerian tribe with a diet consisting almost exclusively of a particular type of yam has the highest rate of twinning in the world. Scientists believe that yams contains certain chemicals that function similarly to estrogen, and so effect ovulation. Note, however, that even the study about dairy/animal protein concluded that women with a diet high in those things were five times as likely as vegan women to give birth to twins....but the chance of twinning is still small.

It's mostly chance, when you get down to it, family history, age, race, fertility drugs, etc. notwithstanding. The best "chance" is through the use of fertility drugs to stimulate hyperovulation and undergo in vitro fertilization, but even that hardly ensures it.

How do you get a baby? How do you make a two story house or more?

Sasuke

It is for Sims 2 for p.c.

Answer
To get a baby, use the phone and call an adoption agency. They'll get you a baby. To make a biological baby, have your two sims cuddle with each other on a bed, and use the action "try for baby". BE SURE THEY ARE IN LOVE. If you hear a lullaby sound, then one of your sims is pregnant. Expect a baby in 3 days.

To make a 2-story house... um, kind of complicated. There are some tutorials on sims2.com... check it out there. But I'll try to explain it.

Build a one story house with no roof. Find the picture of a split-in-two house in the bottom left corner. Click the upper one. You will now be able to build your second story.

HELP! Cry baby, cry baby, cry baby, why baby, why baby, why baby?

I love my

It's not Janis Joplin, or Madonna (I tried to do a Google search). It was on a country station the other day and the cry baby, cry baby, cry baby, and why baby, why baby, why baby was in the chorus of the song. It's a woman that sings it. I don't know if it was a new song, or if they were playing retro music. I can't remember anymore of it, but I really liked it and wanted to know who sings it and the title. If anyone can put the lyrics also, then that would be great! Thanks and God Bless!

Answer
was it Patty Loveless? She released it as a single recently. It was orignially a George Jones song.

Tell me why baby, why baby, why baby why
You make me cry baby, cry baby, cry baby cry
I can't help but love you 'til the day that I die
So tell me, why baby, why baby, why baby why

Well, I got a crow I wanna pick with you
Just like last time when the feathers flew
You're runnin' wild a-kickin' up your heels
A-leavin' me home with a hand full of bills

I can't live without you and you know it's true
But there's no livin' with you so what'll I do
I'm goin' honky tonkin', get as tight as I can
And maybe by then you'll 'preciate a good man

Tell me why baby, why baby, why baby why
You make me cry baby, cry baby, cry baby cry
I can't help but love you 'til the day that I die
So tell me why baby, why baby, why baby why

--- Instrumental ---

Well, now I don't know, but I've heard say
That ever' little dog is a-gonna have his day
You'd better pay attention, don't you dare forget
'Cause I'm just a little bitty puppy yet

Yeah, I caught you honky tonkin' with my best friend
The thing to do was leave you, but I should'a left then
Now I'm too old to leave you, but I still get sore
When you come home a-feelin' for the knob on the door

Tell me why baby, why baby, why baby why
You make me cry baby, cry baby, cry baby cry
I can't help but love you 'til the day that I die
So tell me, why baby, why baby, why baby why...

I love instrumental music.Any other websites you can suggest?

Mary Grace

I love instrumental music.Any other websites you can suggest?Any recommendations? It could be an instrumental version of any popular songs.Or plain instrumental song of either unknown or well-known artists. You can also suggest stuffs like a recorded voice of a baby crying,a chirping bird,a rain,a thunderstorm and many others.Thanks.

Answer
I prefer instrumentals, also. "YouTube.com" has tons of stuff and so does "MyPlace.com" and "GarageBand.com". I haven't searched for instrumentals per se, but I find them in the jazz categories quite regularly. There are some cuts by cellist Yo Yo Ma that are so beautiful they could make you cry. The Twelve Girls Band out of China (I think) play neo-classical style with cellos, violins and traditional Chinese instruments. It is wonderful. "Hooked on Classics" was a group of symphonic musicians who played popular music, jazz and classical in a classical-rock fusion style. They were very popular in the late 1980's into the 1990's because they are great! The Brazilian pianist Deodato also falls into this classical-rock fusion style and was also very popular--especially with his rendition of "Rhapsody in Blue"!

I am a pianist so I like good instrumental keyboard stuff. I especially like people who are introspective and just try to get totally inside the music. Bill Evans, Keith Jarret, McCoy Tyner always. Sometimes Bob James, Chick Corea and David Benoit. And of course, the aforementioned Yo Yo Ma (though not a keyboardist) will take you there! There is some really exciting and cosmic keyboard music in the pure-electronic creations of Tangerine Dream and Vangelis. Some of the so-called "new-age" pianists (George Winston, Will Ackerman, Philip Aaberg and Yanni for instance -- all on the Windham Hill label I think) are also good to listen to, but a lot of their work lacks a "certain substance" (are not substantial enough).

How long will it take to get pregnant?

sapphire

I've had mirena for only 6 months. I didn't like it for multiple reasons. It just wasnt for me. So I had it removed. It's only been a few days. Im 25 and ive had no children. I plan on getting pregnant as soon as possible. I don't want to take any medications to either I would like to have my body recover naturally. Since i only had it for 6 months, how long do you think it will take to get pregnant?

Answer
I'm not sure how long it will take, but there are a lot of things you can do to improve your chances.

Definitely, fitness and nutrition are crucial when trying to get pregnant, and also limiting stress.

Maria Anderson has an excellent site (www.trying-to-get-pregnant-site.com) that has "100 tips for Getting Pregnant", spread over 10 separate articles. They are all free and you don't have to sign up for anything.

Included in the articles are what you should and shouldn't eat, what vitamins, herbs and minerals to take (and which ones to avoid), what drugs to take (and which ones to avoid), tips and videos on fertility massage and exercise. She also talks about the best time of the month to have sex etc.

questions about mirena and pregnancy?

Monica

alright, this may be a little long but i need serious answer and help please.
well i have had mirena since my son was about 1 month or two he will be 2 in October. my husband and I are now planning on trying to have another baby but I am still on the mirena, i plan on making an appointment sometime this week, but i just had a few questions about all of this :)

first, i would like to know how soon will i be able to conceive once the mirena is out?
if i have irregular periods how can i take ovulations tests?
will there be any problems trying to conceive once the mirena is out?

i am just a bit unsure about the whole situation. i would love to have another child but i do not want to get my hopes up and nothing will be happening for a while.
any tips, advice or anything is greatly appriciated.

please nothing rude, thanks.
also, would any of you know if my doctor could tell me when i am ovulating? or since my periods are irregular when would be a good time to take an ovlaltion test?

Answer
1-3 years for IUDs. Usually within the first 18 months though. Some women never get pregnant after that and carry it full term... it either ends in a period, or miscarriage.

IMPROVEMENT ON THAT ANSWER:

This is a really distressing answer and to me seems completely negative and uninformed, where do you base you information from?? You say this like there is no exception! And for those out there trying to get pregnant after having a mirena IUD this type of answer could be very disheartening and cause undue stress.

For each women the answer to this question is different.

So to try and help I will share my experience and hopes it sheds some light and hope x
I had my mirena in for a year and had it removed september 9 so my husband and I could try and concieve. I know for myself after coming of a hormonal contraceptive things can be a bit up and down and can take time for your body to get back on track. I was pretty irregular on iud but my periods didn't stop.

I started a course of FEMZONE a natural course of pills availale from naturopath or health food store after advice. It helps to regulate periods and pms and is also great for women who experience a slight hormonal imbalance after removal.

Anyway I had my period after the removal and started a spread sheet to keep track of what was going on with my body. I knew that in a standard cycle of 28days you generally ovulate on around the 14th day (this of course varies woman to woman) but is a great indicator of the timing of things. I got another period a few weeks later and then a few weeks after that started feeling a bit off colour, very definate signs of pregnancy.

I have had 3 positive tests and my husband and I are very happy.

The important thing is to understand your own body and know how to track it.

After talking to doctors and friends who have had Mirena removed it can take anywhere from 3 - 12 cycles to concieve, if its longer than this just talk to your doctor.

The main reason for early pregnancy miscarriages after the mirena is because one of the ways it works is it thins out the linings of your uterus which stops eggs imbedding.

Clomid?? Wanting twins or triplets..? No problems getting pregnant?

Anna

I know this sounds silly and don't judge me, because you don't know me. My fiance and I are wanting to get pregnant again right after our wedding next year. We really want twins or even triplets. I don't have any problems getting pregnant. We already have a baby. But we really really wanted more then one. I am not crazy! I work with triplets who are 3 and spend alot of time with my nephew who is 2. My daughter will be almost four by the time we have them. I have heard of a ferility drug called Clomid that increases chances of having more then one baby at a time. It tricks your body into producing an egg sometimes even more then 1. We don't want to pay like 47432423 for them to implant them in me. I just wanna know if this is possible or if anyone else has ever tried this? Thank you for your advice/ help. Or Best ways to get pregnant with twins or triplets?????

Answer
First of all, Clomid is only available by prescription after having many tests that the results determine Clomid is warranted. It does not increase the chances of multiples highly, only slightly, in those who take it (something like 10% of women taking Clomid will have a multiple birth). Of that 10%, a large percentage is a result of other factors in addition to the Clomid.

Second of all, Clomid is used to treat certain problems. If you do not have those problems, it is possible it could interfere with your conceiving rather than aiding in it.

Third, that you work with triplets means nothing. You did not have the physical burden of carrying them, you do not have the financial burden of raising them. NOt all stories end happily- the more babies you carry, the higher the risk of miscarriage, premature birth, complications.

Get pregnant with twins or more on Clomid?

Q. Please only answer this question If you got pregnant with twins, triplets or more while taking Clomid. What days did you take it? Did you take any other medications with it? How many trys did it take you before you conceived your multiples? Did you take it for fertility reasons or did you take it hoping for twins (unprescribed)? What was the dosage that you took the cycle you got pregnant? Did your doctor ever extend your usage for more then 5 days (instead of 3-7 or 5-9, you took it 3-8, 3-9 or something similar). And if your doctor did extend it, please tell me why. Thanks, Laura

Answer
If you are trying to have twins, I do not recommend doing anything like taking clomid without your doctor prescribing it. For many reasons. You should be monitored on it, and if you buy it online you never know what it really is. If you are taking it for fertility reasons and want twins, well talk to your doctor.

can i get pregnant a couple days before my period?

janedoetw

OK, well, i am 24 and is in a relationship with this guy and we had sex. but he didn't pull out. i am a bit worried that i could get pregnant, but can you get pregnant a couple days before your period? i'm supposed to start within the next 2-4 days. can this happen? i have tried looking it up. all i can figure out is that you can only get pregnant when you ovulate. can an egg get fertilized in the uterus after ovulation? PLEASE HELP ME.

Answer
It is VERY unlikely to get pregnant a couple days before your period. At that point, you have already ovulated and the egg has died. The only risk is not knowing exactly when your period is coming. But if you are right and it is due in two-four days, there is pretty much no chance.

You ovulate at least 12 days before your period and your egg is only good for 24-48 hours. It is much more likely to get pregnant 2 days after your period ends than two days before it starts.

If you're not planning to go on birth control, start tracking your periods, and this will help you understand when the most fertile times are. Even with pull out, you want to avoid having sex during your most fertile times.

Check out this website and book for more information.

Can you get pregnant before your period?

bettyboopa

I had sex on a Saturday. I had my period Monday. It came early because it usually comes on Wednesday. I take birth control and I have been missing some so I would double up the next day or I would take it later than I should. Could I be pregnant? I am now feeling bloated and constipated. It was about 2 weeks ago that I had sex.

Answer
Technically you can get pregnant before you period and after your period. You should normally ovulate 14 days into your cycle. Cycle day one is the first day of your period. For those who say you can get pregnant anytime of the month is wrong. You only ovulate generallyonce and when you do, you only have a 24 to 36 hour period for the egg to get fertilized. I seriously doubt you are pregnant if you got your period. Also on your bc. don't double up. Take them at the same time everyday. Put them somewhere where you can remember them. Like for example beside your toothbrush. If you brush your teeth everyday then you will remember to take them. Good luck.

sims 3 boy/girl twins?

Increasing Multiple Birth OddsEdit href= Edit

* The cheat "forcetwins" DOES work. It works only if you enter it straight after the lullaby which indicates pregnancy.
* A pregnant Sim can eat cheesecake, which gives a near-100% chance of twins. [TS2:OFB]
* The ultimate Lifetime Aspiration Reward for Family Sims is "Super Fertility",[TS2:FT] which greatly increases the chance of having twins for the rewarded Sim and their spouse. The benefit will decide the number of children born 25 hours after conception (at the time of the first belly expansion).
* Some third-party hacks give the player the option to force Sims to have twins.
* There is also a chance that twins will carry down in the family tree such as the case of Antonio Monty with his children as Antonio may himself, be a twin.

* Sims can buy the reward "Fertility Treatment" for 10,000 lifetime reward points. Fertility Treatment makes it more likely that "Try For Baby" will work, and also increases chances of twins and triplets. [TS3]
* Watching the kids channel on TV or listening to the children's music station on the stereo can increase the chance of multiple children. Doing either slightly increases the chance for multiples. Doing both at the same time more than doubles the chances of having twins or triplets as either alone.[TS3]
* In The Sims 2, a pregnant Sim is more likely to have twins if she eats cookies in the first trimester, between the period of conception and when the pregnant belly becomes visible.[confirmation needed]
* In The Sims 2, if the Sim had 2 children before, and gets pregnant again, there is a slight chance that the Sim will give birth to twins.

Rename Sim in Sims 3?

wrbbb

OK I just messed up because I thought it was a glitch or some kind of mess up in the game...
One of my sims was pregnant. When she went to have her baby the game said give it a name. OK I did. Then said give it a couple traits. OK did that too. Then it said give it a name...? My thought was, "didn't we just do that?". SOOOO I gave it the same name followed by giving it the same traits. Turns out it was twins. Now they are the same with the same name as well. This will not work!
How can I rename one of them?

Answer
You cant. I am a sims 3 fan and i know everything about it. You can only unsave it to rename them. Well they are true twins. LOL

Trying to get pregnant with no luck any suggestions?

Q. We have been TTC for over a year and no luck. I am frustrated, but have learned to live with the fact it may not happen. He has low counts. Any suggestions? Is there anything out there to help the process? He's been to the Dr., maybe I should go too. He is in his mid 30's me in my mid 20's. I just want some help and advice!

Answer
How to get Pregnant Faster â Top Ten Tips

1. Have sex three times a week.

Having regular sex is the best way to get pregnant. Couples often try to time everything perfectly for ovulation but do not have sex when they think they are not ovulating. It is true that sex that is not within the time of ovulation will not result in pregnancy. However, because women do not always ovulate when they think they will, having sex three times a week will help to a woman cover her bases, so to speak, and not miss an opportunity to get pregnant.
2. Use an ovulation prediction kit or fertility monitor.

Using an ovulation kit to predict when you are ovulating will improve your chances of getting pregnant. For many women charting or other methods of ovulation prediction are too confusing. Ovulation prediction kits work by reading LH surges prior to ovulation. They are relatively easy to use and are generally accurate for predicting ovulation. Fertility monitors, such as the Clear Blue Easy monitor, are also a worthwhile investment if you would like to get pregnant faster. Fertility monitors are similar to ovulation prediction kits in that they read changes in LH but they also read changes in other hormones and donât require any guesswork for couples. They are easy to use and will tell you when the best time to get pregnant is.

3. Have sex before ovulation (not after).

Sometimes couples get confused about the best time to have sex in relationship to ovulation. You have a small window of time each month to get pregnant. After a woman ovulates the egg will survive approximately 24 hours. Sperm, on the other hand, will live for up to three to five days. This is why having sex two to three days before ovulation will increase your chances of getting pregnant. Donât wait until the day you ovulate to have sex. Your partnerâs sperm will last longer than your egg and you donât want to miss an opportunity by waiting.

4. Donât rely on the Calendar method for predicting ovulation.

A lot of couples have heard to have sex around day fourteen of your cycle. This is based on the calendar method and assumes that you have a regular 28-day cycle and ovulate mid-cycle. Although this is better than just picking an arbitrary day to have sex, it is not a very accurate way to predict when you ovulate. Many women do not ovulate on day fourteen and knowing precisely when you ovulate will help you time intercourse better. Ovulation prediction kits, looking at previous months bbt charts, or watching for body cues will help you to determine when you ovulate.

5. Charting may not be the best way to predict ovulation.

Charting is great for tracking your cycle but it does have disadvantages. By the time you can see ovulation on a bbt chart, you have already ovulated. It is good to chart so you can track your cycles, see if you ovulate the same time each month, and also so you can look back on your cycle and see if you timed things right. But if this is your first cycle trying to get pregnant or if you are not ovulating at the same time each month, an ovulation prediction kit would be more helpful.

6. See a doctor before you start trying to get pregnant.
Make sure you are in good health and have had a regular check up from your OBGYN or medical provider. Untreated infections, sexually transmitted diseases, or poor health can affect your chances of getting pregnant. Its good to see a doctor as well as start taking prenatal vitamins prior to trying to conceive.

7. Donât smoke, drink alcohol, or abuse drugs when trying to get pregnant.
This may seem like common sense but many women do try to get pregnant while smoking, drinking or using drugs. Smoking, drugs, and alcohol can affect your fertility. It will also affect your unborn child. It is important to stop smoking or using drugs and alcohol before getting pregnant and not wait until you find out you are pregnant.

8. Have enjoyable sex.

Sometimes when couples are trying to conceive, sex becomes a job or function of reproduction and is not as enjoyable. Plan a romantic evening or try something different to spice things up. How you are feeling sexually may factor into your chances of getting pregnant. Some researchers believe that having an orgasm during sex increases your chances of getting pregnant. For women, the spasmic movements of orgasm will help pull the sperm into the uterus and for men a better orgasm may increase the manâs sperm count.

9. Have sex in positions that keep sperm inside the vagina longer.

The missionary position is a good position to use when trying to get pregnant. Avoid positions where the woman is on top. Gravity will allow sperm to leak out with these positions. Also try placing a pillow under your hips to help tilt your pelvis and keep the sperm in longer. Donât get up right after sex. Try to relax and allow the sperm to stay in the vagina as long as possible.

10. There is no such thing as trying too hard to get pregnant.
Most couples get pregnant within a year of trying. If you have not gotten pregnant within a year consult your doctor for advice.

Answer
Tip # 1. To get pregnant faster have sex many times a week.

Having regular sex is the best way to get pregnant. When you don't think about it, its easier to relax resulting in faster pregancy.

Tip # 2. To get pregnant faster use an ovulation prediction kit or fertility monitor.

Using an ovulation kit to predict when you are ovulating will improve your chances of getting pregnant.

Tip # 3. To get pregnant faster have sex before ovulation (not after).

Tip # 4.

Ovulation prediction kits, looking at previous months bbt charts, or watching for signs of ovulation will help you to determine when you ovulate.

Tip # 5. If you want to get pregnant faster, don't rely on fertility charting alone to predict ovulation.

Fertility Charting is great for tracking your cycle but it does have disadvantages.

Tip # 6. Before you start trying to get pregnant see your doctor.

Make sure you are in good health and have had a regular check up from your OBGYN or medical provider. Untreated infections, sexually transmitted diseases, or poor health can affect your chances of getting pregnant. Its good to see a doctor as well as start taking prenatal vitamins prior to trying to conceive.

Tip # 7. When trying to get pregnant, donât smoke, drink alcohol, or abuse drugs.

Tip # 8. To get pregnant faster have enjoyable sex.

Tip # 9.

Tip # 10. There is no such thing as trying too hard to get pregnant.

Most couples get pregnant within a year of trying. If you have not gotten pregnant within a year consult your doctor for advice.

Do people usually stay on Metformin when pregnant?

kcat

Obviously if I ever get pregnant, I will discuss this with my doctor, but I'm just curious what normally happens. If you have insulin resistance or diabetes and you get pregnant, do you normally stay on Metformin?

Answer
I am finally pregnant after alot of different things that we have tried. I had a miscarriage in January and did not know it was caused by my insulin resistance. I have been on metformin for 4 months. I have read very extensively about the subject of staying on met while preg. I am going to the dr tomorrow and convincing her to let me stay on it for the whole preg. If she disagrees, I am going to find another doctor. there are no medical studies that show that met harms the baby if taken throughout the preg. There are studies that show women who are used to taking met and get preg should stay on for the duration for the insulin levels to help maintain the preg. The studies also show that these women who were taken off met spontaneously miscarry. The met is designed to help control insulin levels whether you are preg or not. When you are preg, your insulin levels rise beyond normal, so why not take it. Not one thing that I have read states that staying on it caused a pregnancy to end, or and defects. Good luck to you and lots of baby dust.

anyone stay cold while pregnant?

wubzy_wubz

i'll be 19 weeks pregnant tomorrow, with my 2nd pregnancy. i seem to stay cold. i have yet to get hot, or even warm. my husband swears he's gonna get a lock on the thermostat, because i keep bumping the heat up (i like it a nice toasty 82). i am hypothyroid, and they have tested me just about every time i walk in the office, also i'm not anemic. my doctor even thought it was odd, but can't seem to find any medical reason for it. anyone else stay cold while pregnant?

Answer
I'm usually always cold, and it hasn't changed since I've become pregnant! Last night it was actually quite mild and I was FREEZING inside my home. I'm waiting for that pregnancy heat to start up once the summertime comes, though! Haha :)

Can you get pregnant 3 days before ovulation?

Kylee

My husband and I had unprotected sex 2 days ago and according to one of those apps my most fertile day is tomorrow, I know those aren't completely accurate but it does a good job predicting. So how likely is it for me to get pregnant? And have any of you women gotten pregnant a couple days before you were supposed to ovulate?

Answer
Yes you can. Sperm can stay alive in a human for up to 7 days. Now it isn't certain that you will get pregnant but there is a good chance. My advice. Take a morning after pill.

Pregnant or not? Unprotected sex 4 times, 3 days before ovulation?

Live.Laugh

Me and my boyfriend had unprotected sex 3 and 4 days after my period. (Which would be the 4th and 3rd days before my ovulation date.) (I know this because I chart my period, Ovulation, etc, on my ipod.) I ovulated on the 27th, I had sex the 22nd and 23rd, twice each night. I read online that having sex 3 days before ovulation gives you a 75% chance of getting pregnant. I'm not ready to be a mom. I didn't know I was ovulating and fertile. We used the pull out method. He later told me he thinks he came inside me a little bit because he felt a little come out. He doesn't know how much though. We also didn't realize pre-*** has sperm in it. He knows for sure pre-*** came out numerous times each night. He now thinks I may be pregnant. It's been a week since we had unprotected sex. Yesterday I had lot's of cramping and stomach aches, cravings, I was moody, and nauseous. Today I have a slight headache, majorly increased appetitee, moody, nauseous, and I couldn't sleep last night at all. I was wondering when I could take a pregnancy test and it be accurate. My periods not due for 11 more days. What are my chances of being pregnant, When can I test, and What are some other symtoms to expect? Any advice will help!.

Answer
What do you call pull-out method users? Parents. Haha! I'm just kidding. ...Okay, not entirely, since that's largely true. But still, all good-natured teasing aside, let's see if I can calm you down any:

Since you're freaking out and looking for symptoms, I can easily predict the biggest two symptoms you will experience: paranoia and hypochondria. You should also be warned that the body can do an amazing thing when you're panicked: It can actually produce REAL symptoms just by you worrying about those symptoms. For example, if I told you that craving the smell of clean bed linens were a pregnancy symptom, there's a reasonable chance that you would focus on it so much that you would actually start to want to change your sheets constantly. The same process can give you very real headaches, stomachaches, nausea, cramps, cravings, mood changes, and so on.

So, Step One: Stop looking for symptoms. It's a waste of time and is guaranteed to stress you. A very large number of women never experience any pregnancy symptoms at all before their first positive pregnancy test. Many other women claim they experience all kinds of pregnancy symptoms shortly after implantation, but they really can't firmly prove that these symptoms weren't just normal symptoms that always happen to some degree in their cycles that they just never noticed before. Looking for symptoms is just a highly stressful and highly ridiculous waste of time.

Step Two: While you're waiting to test, go back and look at your iPod again. I think it's really cool that you're interested in charting. But I do have some quick question about your app. There are two kinds of ovulation-charting apps. One of them can be trusted pretty well, and the other one is not particularly accurate at all. The trustworthy kind requires you to input regular daily information, most notably your waking temperature and your cervical fluid (aka vaginal discharge). The untrustworthy kind just asks you to enter the date when your periods start and nothing more. If your iPod app is the first kind, then, yeah, you probably ovulated when it guesses that you did. If your iPod app is the second kind that doesn't require daily data inputs, then there's a very reasonable chance it's wrong if it doesn't actually have the right information about what your body is up to now.

Step Three: In the past week or so have you noticed very wet feelings in your vagina, or noticed any clear, slippery, fluids that strongly resemble egg-whites? If so, then you were definitely fertile and are at high risk for being pregnant. If not, it doesn't necessarily mean that those fluids weren't there-- you just may not have noticed them. However, if the fertile fluids really weren't present, then sperm dies within a few hours inside the normally-hostile environment of the vagina without them. So if you have more information on your vaginal fluids, you would have a better idea of how safe you are. (I recently had unprotected sex 4 days before my ovulation day, mostly because ovulation happened earlier this time, but there were no fertile fluids, and my period is arriving right when I knew it would today.)

Step Four: You can expect a pregnancy test to be accurate on the day that you expect your period. While there are a large number of "early response" pregnancy tests out there as well as a large number of stories from women that got an early positive, it's actually not that common to get a positive too much before the day you miss your period. Several studies have confirmed that the majority of woman who are indeed pregnant do not get their first positive pregnant test until about two weeks after ovulation, which basically coincides with the the first day she might expect her period. So wait until then to test if you don't get your period.

Step Five: I think you would find Taking Charge of Your Fertility, by Toni Weschler. You're already interested in tracking your fertility. That book will tell you everything you want to know and more. I've actually successfully avoided pregnancy for 2 years and 9 months now, even though we only use condoms about 20% of the time. Feel free to message me if you have more questions. I'm an old hat at charting questions.

Can you only get pregnant during ovulation?

just me :)

I thought that ovulation was like seven days after your period stops. And we did it the day after my period stopped. Then somebody on here told me that I can't get pregnant right after my period stops. I'm so confused! When can you get pregnant?

Answer
Ok, let's start at the beginning. An average cycle is 28 days long, with Day 1 being the day you start your period. Ovulation can happen, on average, between days 7 and 10 of your cycle (ie. 7-10 days after you start your period). But this differs from woman to woman, and sometimes from cycle to cyle.

There are a few ways you can tell you're about to ovulate: you can check your cervical mucus (if it's watery or stretchy like egg-white, you're fertile and about to ovulate); you can use Ovulation Predictor Kits or Saliva Microscopes, both of which can pick up signs that you're about to ovulate. Finally, you can chart your body temperature, and when it suddenly rises, it means that you have just ovulated (and it's too late to try for a baby after you've ovulated).

That said, you can have several patches of fertile cervical mucus during your cycle, and sperm can live up to 5 days inside you (usually no more than 3 days, but they have been found to live for longer).

If you're NOT trying to get pregnant, you should practise safe sex then you're pretty much assured no pregnancy. But if you DO want to get pregnant, you should chart your body temperature and use OPK s(Ovulation Predictor Kits), saliva microscopes and check your cervical mucus (some women also check the height and texture of their cervix as this also changes when you're your most fertile and about to ovulate).

If you are trying to conceive, I highly recommend fertilityfriend.com which will give you more info on everything I've given you, and let you chart your temperatures.

Good luck :-)

Is during ovulation the only way someone can get pregnant

so lost

Well I want a child, me and my boyfriend has been intimate for about 11 months most times we have sex almost everyday, but lIm still not pregnant! Is something wrong with me? I know he's capable of having kids because he has 4 already.
he's not on child support for any of his kids, because he do and care for all of them. He's really a good father. I just want to experience parenthood too. Like when his kids come over I have so much fun, when they leave i get depressed because i miss the children and i figured if i have my own then it wouldn't be depressed anymore

Answer
The most success rate in getting pregnant is during ovulation, however, you can become pregnant during other times of the month.

You may be trying to hard to become pregnant. Do not think about getting pregnant the next time you are intimate. Just relax and enjoy the intercourse.

Medications may sometime interfere with your getting pregnant, if you are taking any. If you are really worried, go see a gynecologist. There are tests that can be ordered to determine if you can become pregnant.

Hamster Babies!!!?

-- Tayler

My hamster just had around 8 babies 2 days ago and I was wondering when do they open their eyes, when do they walk around the cage, and when will they get their fur??? I have been trying to count them without disturbing them or the mom but I havent got a clear answer. Please answer =) thanks!
yes this was an exedent
i bought 2 females and one turned out to be a male
a male+one female=babies!
=) thanks to all that answered

Answer
The Baby Basics

Remove the father hamster from the cage immediately. Some dwarf hamster males can help raise the babies, however you donât want to stress momma hamster with a second pregnancy so soon! Donât touch the babies unless you have a really good reason. Leave momma hamster and the babies alone if at all possible. If you make the mother too nervous, she may hurt or kill her babies. Give momma hamster privacy and extra nutrition. Give her plenty of hamster mix, fresh fruits and vegetables, bread, and fresh water. You may also want to give her a little milk or baby formula once a day in a shallow dish or soaked into bread. You can also offer a bit of cooked egg for extra protein. Add extra bedding to make a nice nest, and keep the cage and babies warm. Donât put the cage in direct sunlight or on a heater, but make sure itâs in a warm spot and away from drafts.

If you want to get a better look at the tiny, pink babies, wait for momma hamster to leave the nest for some reason. You can then carefully and quietly get a look at the baby hamsters! Keep an eye on the mother -- if she seems nervous or anxious, stop what youâre doing and back away. A mother hamsterâs reactions will vary; some are very relaxed about human observation and some (especially young mothers) can be very nervous. Be observant and respect your hamsterâs personality.

Resist the urge to touch the babies for at least two weeks. Donât touch the nest, either. Only touch the mother or the cage, and only if absolutely necessary. Really, the best thing you can do is leave the mother hamster and babies alone for the first two weeks. If you want to look in, do it quietly.

By the time the baby hamsters are two to three weeks old, you should be able to touch them and even pick them up! But be aware that a baby hamster is unsocialized; it may be frightened and nip your finger or piddle in your hand. Donât drop the baby in surprise.

Some hamster mothers may leave the nest frequently, leaving the babies alone. As long as the babies are covered for warmth and as long as the mother comes back to nurse, the baby hamsters will be just fine. Just like people, some hamster mothers need more breaks from the demands of the babies. Momma hamster may also move the nest and babies around. The mother may be looking for the safest possible place, or the warmest spot to sleep. She may be relocating because the nest is soiled and is searching for a cleaner spot.

For the first nine to ten days of life, your baby hamsters will get all the nutrition they need from motherâs milk. After that, you can start offering soft foods, like breads, cooked or grated veggies, or fresh fruits to supplement the milk. By about two weeks old, the baby hamsters will start sampling the regular hamster mix. By four weeks of age, the babies should be weaned from motherâs milk and be eating normal hamster food and treats. Keep an eye on how much water your babies drink, too; they should be drinking plenty of water from the bottle by four weeks.

Questions About Your Baby Hamsters

How soon can I clean the cage? Wait at least ten days, if not two weeks. You can wait even longer to clean the cage if the mother seems anxious. Remove the entire nest with the babies while you clean; you may want to separate the mother so she will stay calm. When you are done cleaning, replace the nest and babies where you found them. When will the babies open their eyes? You can expect a baby hamster to open its eyes between twelve and sixteen days. How do I tell the difference between the sexes? Before a baby hamsterâs fur grows in, this will be relatively easy. Once the hamsters are two weeks old, pick them up and look at the stomachs. If you see two rows of pink dots, you have a female on your hand -- those are the nipples. When should I separate the babies? Unless you want more litters on your hands, separate the males and females by four to five weeks. Dwarf hamsters can live in pairs or in same-sex groups; Syrian hamsters should live alone. When can the babies go to their new homes? Once the babies are completely weaned from their mother -- around four to five weeks of age -- they can go to new homes. The babies have swollen bellies and are dying, whatâs wrong? This may be a case of milk fever -- when a motherâs milk becomes infected. Milk fever can occur at any time during nursing, but is often seen between one and two weeks of age. Call your veterinarian immediately; milk fever can be treated with antibiotics. What do I do if there is a dead baby in the cage? Remove the body immediately, but try not to touch anything. Wear a plastic glove or plastic bag over your hand, or try reaching for the body with a long spoon. Why would a mother hamster kill or eat her babies? A nervous young mother may kill her babies if she feels they are threatened. A mother hamster may also kill an injured or ill baby. Female hamsters come into heat on the day they give birth so if the father was present at the birth then the female is probably pregnant again now!

When my hamsters are nursing young and i have let them get pregnant again straight away, i always take the older babies from the mother on the day she gives birth, so she doesnt have chance to miss them because she has a new litter to look after.

It is usually just after three weeks when i separate them and they are capable of looking after themselves then - they have most of their fur, have their eyes open and are running around too. You might have to do this too if she has another litter - if she does then the babies will be about 3 or four weeks old when she does.

You can then leave a male with the father for company and leave a female from the new litter with the mother - then you can re home all of the rest if thats what you want to do.

The mother may be a little more aggressive because she has young - after all she will be trying to defend them.

Good Luck and let me know how you get on.

URGENT. BEDDING FOR BABY CHICKS?

Answers

i've bought some baby chicks, and their bedding has been newspaper for around 2 days now. I read that it is EXTREMELY bad to have them on newspaper. What should I do? Would hamster bedding work?

Answer
Baby chicks are big poopers, so make sure to line the floor of their housing unit with an absorbent material. The best, is to spread pine shavings about 1 inch thick. Resist the urge to use newspaper! It's not nearly as absorbent and the slippery surface can lead to a permanent deformity called "splayed leg" which can ultimate result in the other chickens picking on the affected bird to death. Many people also swear by paper towels, changed often. (DON'T use cedar shavings, no matter what friends or your local feed store tell you: the aromatic oils will irritate your chicks' lungs, and make them more susceptible to respiratory problems later in life.)

If you can't take the smell of the pine chips or if you are allergic to the dust, try the pellet bedding for small pets (hamsters) or just leaves raked out of the yard.

You can usually pick up a bag of wood shavings from your local petsore or superstore (asda ect)
theyre pretty cheep and usually have a picture of a rabbit or other small animal on the front of it.

PCOS Pregnancy???

TTC for #1

Back in November 2007 I was diagnosed with PCOS. My fiance and I have been trying for a child and we really want one badly lol. I am currently taking Metphormin 1000MG twice a day. I was wondering if any women out there that has PCOS and has become pregnant had any advice or any tips they done that could help me out!! (Besides having sex..that one is common sense!!)

ANY ADVICE AND TIPS ARE WELCOME

SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY!!!!!!!

Answer
I have pcos and was not able to get pregnant naturally. I went on metformin and it didn't work either. Then I went onto CLomid and was pregnant first time. That was 3 yrs ago and am now on my 6th month of clomid and nothing, its so tough.
My suggestion would be to buy an ovulation kit, it will help pin point ovulation as it is difficult to tell with girls who have pcos. My other suggestion is to lay off carbs, for some reason they can interfere with trying to conceive. i have been told numerous times not to stress just let it happen but that is so much easier said than done.
I wish you all the luck in the world, this is such an emotional roller coaster. But it is possible!!
Baby dust to you!!

i have pcos and want to get pregnant?

Q. do you have any tips on how i can get pregnant naturally with pcos. any advise will help.

Answer
There is so much you can start with. First go to fertilityfriend.com and learn how to chart your basal body temperature. This will give you a lot of insight on if you are even ovulating. Also it will give you somewhere to start if or when you have to go to an Ob/Gyn for fertility.

I have to be honest. I have never had luck with natural remedies. Maybe you will but if you are wanting to get pregnant in the near future I would skip natural.

My doctor put me on 2000mg of Metformin to help my insulin to work correctly. I also went on prenatal vitamins right away. Try eating as healthy as you can and lose any extra weight that you need to without starving yourself. Since I have never in my life had a period on my on I had to go on Provera to have a period. Then I went on 50mg of Clomid. I have gotten pregnant 6 times and each of those was within two months but one of them.

Lots of baby dust being sent your way!!
