is my baby sucking too hard?

i bottle feed my baby and she is 2 weeks old i use the avent anti colic bottles with a size 1 teat the last couple of days she has been making horrible gulping noises and throws up not long after her feed and has blisters on the top of her lip could this be because she is not getting enough milk when she is sucking so is trying harder to get more? ime just wondering whether to try a bigger teat for her? but the label says the next size up is 1 month+ and my daughter is only 2 weeks old

Answer
I would try a slower nipple, the gulp is her taking down to much too fast and thats why she is throwing up. Newborns are supposed to work really hard for the milk it develops there jaw muscles. I would try Playtex drop ins, thats what I used with a slow nipple.

Good Luck

does your breastfed baby do this?

my daughter falls asleep while nursing so i pull my nipple out and she starts freaking out and flailing all around even though she was in a deep sleep a second before. i think its really funny but sometimes it gets a little annoying because i have to keep feeding her. does your baby do this? i love breastfeeding, my daughter looks so happy while she eats and she makes such cute little noises. what does your baby do while nursing that makes breastfeeding so worth it and enjoyable?

Answer
my girls the exact same! she al so makes these cute gulping sounds, and i love it when she grabs my top to pull me in closer. and of course the little humming soung she makes like "hmmm.....hmmmm....hmm" when she feeds, its so cute. breastfeeding not only is great for babys, but it can make mothers so happy too, its great! x
