I've heard that lying on your left side is best when pregnant but is this the same case for fraternal twins?

If you are pregnant with twins and find a way to sleep comfortably - THAT is the best way to sleep! I'm 24 weeks now and am so sleep deprived I forget my kids' names sometimes.

If I lay down at all, this darn congestion has me coughing and up and breathing through my mouth. Left or right side makes my "let's pop out of the sockets to give the babies more room" hips ache. Back makes my heart race because it cuts off blood circulation and it isn't really healthy for the babies anyway. I'd love to lay on my tummy but obviously that isn't happening now. Oh, and let's not forget the heartburn.

Most people I've talked to give up and sleep sitting up. I'm headed that way but I can't get a deep sleep that way at all.

BTW - with that whole 'left side' thing - my 3rd pregnancy came with a lot of NSTs. That is where they listen to your baby's heart rate while looking for specific fluctuations for an extended time period. We learned quickly that if I laid on my left side, it really messed with her heart rate. It was better for her if I laid on my right. I don't know why.

I'm 6 weeks pregnant, and my clothes are already fitting me tight, the company I'm working with is making me permanent in January, in other words I will be a temp until then. I don't want to lose my job if they find out I am pregnant and I don't know what to do. I can't starve myself it could hurt my baby plus when I get hungry i start getting nasuase, is it twins or why am I gaining weight so quickly I don't over eat, and I always have light dinners, I have gained 6 lbs already.

It's against the law for you to lose your job because you're pregnant. Please don't start to get hang-ups about your weight - you're pregnant - you're supposed to get bigger.

My wife is pregnant with twins even though we just had our first child. What should we do?

Okay, our son (first child) was born about five months ago. He's been one of those babies that cries a lot and rarely sleeps so it has been hard on us. My wife just recently found out she's pregnant again, with twins this time; that's where the real trouble lies.

I do want to have more than one child, but I planned on having another one later, once we'd gotten used to this one. We're still getting adjusted to the first one, and now we have TWO more on the way. I just don't know how to handle it. We're both at a pretty good age (I'm 29 and she's 28), young enough to handle them, and I am financially stable enough so that having more kids won't be an issue really. It's just the stress that I'm worried about.

Neither of us have any family members where we. We're just not sure what to do. We never planned to get pregnant again so quickly, especially not with twins.
Clarification: We are having the children, that's not the issue. Money is not a problem, either. It's mostly just little things we're worried about. Any advice on that kind of stuff would be helpful. We only found out a few days ago about this so we haven't had time to really talk to anyone, but I am going to talk to my parents about it (as is she).

well, you should have taken more precaution now you have to deal with the consequences, you and your wife need to talk about it, and just ask yourself the questions will you be able to cope? would you be able to handle the stress of 3 babies? and just make a decision on what you want to do

I am 7 weeks 3 days pregnant with twins. I'm 25 and it's my first pregnancy. My breasts grew a ridiculous amount early on, but now all my clothes feel a lot tighter. Should I be getting fat this quickly? I thought with your first you normally don't put on weight for a while, unless it is different with twins? Does anyone know?

I think its just gas. I was extremely bloated at first also but that's mostly in the first trimester then the bloating goes away and the baby fat starts to show up. lol. Since this is your first pregnancy you shouldn't have gained that much weight so quickly. Have you checked your weight? Even with twins I don't think its normal to be gaining alot of weigh so quickly.

During the first trimester, you should gain about 2-5 pounds. I'm 13 weeks with just one, and have gained 2 pounds. After the 13th week, you should gain a pound a week, more for twins. You should eat lots of small meals throughout the day. Protein shakes could help as well. It is important for you to be gaining weight. You definitely should not be losing weight!

it;ll be a lot of work. if you have them in the same feeding schedule, you may find short breaks during the day. if you dont, youll find that you;re always feeding someone.

there will be a lot crying and you have to get used to it. sometimes they will cry one at a time and when you're succesful at making that baby cry, the other one starts to cry. and sometimes you have crying in stereo,

youll have to thing :"assembly line"... one or the other always has to wait his/her turn.

in order to survive when they both want to be picked up at the same time, you;ll get creative to fullfil both their needs..and you will learn quickly

one will always wake up the other... but if they are in the same schedule, you;ll find that this is sometimes agood thing.

twins play with each other..so as they grow up, you can leave them occupied on the floor so that you can grab something to eat!

they are a lot fun... parents love to stare at their babies, but with twins, it's a lot more fun to watch them interract with each other
