Q. I had my ;ast period Oct. 23 and had unprotected sex on Nov.5.. Im 43 years old, i know i should have known better but i am really stressed out now and i am having pregnancy symptoms.

You're still having periods which means you're still ovulating which means you COULD be pregnant at 43!

My aunt is healthy,never smoked in her life,doesn't drink alcohol and doesn't use any drugs and she eats healthy and stays fit,she got pregnant at age 43 and her baby girl turned out fine and at age 45 she had a baby boy and he turned out fine,yet I often hear from diverse sources that woman over the age 35 have a very high probability of having a down syndrome child,yet why didn't this happen to my aunt?

It's not rare at all. It just means her risk of having a baby with Down's increases dramatically. It doesn't mean that she will for sure have a baby with Down's. The risk just rises the older the mother gets.

I found this:

At age 30, for example, a woman has less than a 1 in 1,000 chance of conceiving a child with DS. Those odds increase to 1 in 400 by age 35. By 42, it jumps to about 1 in 60

That basically means that for every 1000 women in their 30s who have babies, 1 will have Down's. Out of every 400 women who give birth at 35, 1 baby will have Down's. For a woman at 42, for every 60 babies born, 1 will have Down's. That's a significant increase, but it doesn't guarantee a baby with Down's.
