How can i keep baby pigeons safe from predators?

This is the third year birds have tried to nest in our tree. The last two years their babies did not make it. Last year it was robins, this year it is pigeons. I really would like to see these pigeons make it. What can I do to help protect them? If you do not have an answer, do you know of any websites which would have this kind of information?

just feed them bread,soft bread.And put water in abottle and let it drip in their mouth.The basement is not a bad idea.It has to be lit of course and check on them from time to time.

Judging by your use of the word "babies," it is apparent that you have elevated pigeons to a higher order on the grand scale of life. Your motive is admirable and your heart is warm, but remember that nature takes care itself. Everything has to eat. It's been that way for a long time. You should not try to interfere with the food chain. Unless pigeons have been put on the endangered species list, I would just sit back and hope for the best.
